Dr. Elisabeth Hodara joined the Institute for Asthma and Allergy in 2026. She grew up in France before receiving a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She earned her medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University and completed her residency in Pediatrics at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Hodara went on to complete her fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY, where she cared for both pediatric and adult patients. She contributed to medical education by teaching allergy and immunology curriculum to residents and intensive care fellows. She conducted research on IgE deficiency, comparing clinical presentations across pediatric and adult populations. She has presented her work at national allergy and immunology conferences. During her fellowship, she served as an Executive Board Member of the New York Asthma and Allergy Society (NYAAS), where she sat on the Continuing Medical Education Committee.
Dr. Hodara is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI) and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI). She is Board Certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Pediatrics.
